According to Washington Beer Blog, last night's beer dinner at Ray's Boathouse was the final one organized by longtime chef Peter Birk. Birk has already left the kitchen; WBB's Kendall Jones plays coy, and promises to "share more information about where this beer-loving chef is now plying his trade" in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Ray's rep Lori Magaro says the iconic waterfront restaurant is in the midst of a non-hurried "nationwide search" for a new executive chef and "are taking our time to find the right person for the role." The restaurant will likely name its new chef in the first quarter of 2012. Meanwhile Ray's kitchen team and sous chef Seth Prigg are stepping up to run the show.
