For a restaurant that has been open for a little over a year at its Capitol Hill location, Marjorie has experienced its share of turnover. In hiring Paul Hyman, formerly of Kirkland's Bin on the Lake, Marjorie's owner Donna Moodie appears confident that she has finally found a good match. She tells Eater:
With growth on the horizon, I wanted a serious, focused and creative Chef. I have been talking to Paul Hyman for a few months, and the synergy and timing was perfect. He lives to shop at the market daily, his food is amazing, and he is excited about Marjorie's growth.
The growth that Moodie refers to is a private dining area that recently became available to customers. Marjorie's last chef, Charles Walpole, is hard at work on his new project, Blind Pig Bistro.
