Cafe Pettirosso Will Close December 30

Adorably twee Cafe Pettirosso will close on December 30, reports The Stranger. We will miss their breakfast sandwiches and hand pulled espresso drinks. Owner Robin Wright tells the paper that it's again a case of rising rents foiling a long standing small business: "They have a big space they need to rent, and the access is through my space... I was not the one. I'm kind of winding down, not gearing up for a huge project."

A rescue effort is in the works, however. Former Pettirosso employee Yuki Sodos and sister Miki Sodos, who currently run Bang Bang Cafe, hope to take over the business.
