REPEAL DAY CELEBRATIONS—If you want to get into the spirit of Repeal Day over the weekend, we suggest you watch the Ken Burns documentary--in which Seattle has a small role. Once you begin appreciating why we should celebrate Repeal Day every year, check out this roundup by Seattle Weekly's Sonja Groset on 12/5 events taking place in Seattle. Notable celebrations will be held at Canon and Liberty, both on Capitol Hill. [Seattle Weekly]
DUNGENESS CRAB—Seattle Weekly's Hanna Raskin says that Dungeness Crab Season's start here in Puget Sound will be delayed to December 15, because "fishery managers earlier this year realized the population wouldn't be in good enough shape to support" the normal December 1 start. Everyone is hoping to have Dungeness Crab available in time for Christmas. [Seattle Weekly]
WEST SEATTLE—Seattle Weekly's Mike Seely says that West Seattle's best Chinese food can be found in White Center-- at bowling alley Roxbury Lanes precisely. Seely highlights the chicken fried rice and the General Tso's Chicken[Attn: Surly]. Seely also slips in a line about the current state of the online-only, Hearst-controlled Seattlepi.com as "a ghostly version of its former self online, where titties and kitties reign supreme." [Seattle Weekly]
WEST SEATTLE—A Terrible Beauty Irish Pub has a new store, carrying Irish food items, says West Seattle Herald. Irish food items include the following: Black and white pudding, cheeses, bangers and rashers, Irish butter, soda bread and rye bread, home made baked fresh daily sausage rolls, cornish posties, chicken curry pies . . . and Tayto Roasted Chicken flavor potato chips."
