Before you step foot into the Redmond location of Typhoon!, you may want to know about their questionable handling of employees. The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries announced yesterday that it has filed formal charges against the Tigard, OR-based chain and owner Bo Kline for allegedly discriminating against its Thai employees. Labor commissioner Brad Akavian first filed a complaint on behalf of those employees in September 2010, and after an investigation, state regulators determined in May of this year that Typhoon! violated state wage-and-hour laws and anti-discrimination laws. Regulators are seeking $2 million in damages on behalf of 11 workers. [OregonLive via Eater PDX]
