Hook & Plow gastropub is now open at the Marriott Waterfront, acccording to a press release. Todd English's Fish Club lasted five years there, but its successor, the highly descriptive Restaurant 2100 only lasted two, having opened at the waterfront hotel in 2009. Hook & Plow will serve up local microbrews such as Pike’s Brewing Company, Rogers, Maritime IPA and Manny’s Pale Ale. Expect to see a blackboard displaying the daily specials, as the menu will rely on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Chef Thomas Horner will helm the new eatery. Of his menu, chef Horner says, “I'm a dedicated locavore: source it close, savor the seasons, promote growth of the producers and share...It's that simple.” Chef Horner came to Seattle earlier this year, by way of the JW Marriott in Orlando, Florida, where he was an executive sous chef.
