Madrona's June Closes After Nineteen Months

Photo: June/Yelp

Just nineteen months after opening, Madrona's June has closed, says Seattle Weekly's Hanna Raskin. Ever since the demise of Cremant, neighbors in neighboring 'hoods have wondered whether Madrona could sustain an ambitious restaurant. The Stranger's Domenic Holden made a case for affordable, unpretentious restaurants in Madrona back in January 2010. Was June too upscale for the neighborhood? Or, was it the food? Raskin reminds us that Providence Cicero awarded June two stars back in September 2010, finding fault with much of the food. Meanwhile, Vuong and Trina Loc's higher end restaurant, Portage is still open in Queen Anne.
