5 Corner Market Bar & Kitchen Shutters After Four Months

New, 1 comment

That was fast. Five Corner Market Bar & Kitchen, the Ballard gastropub that opened in December with a Quinn's veteran in the kitchen and one hell of a fancy oven, has closed.

Chef Sam Crannell told us he was let go two months ago. The owner, Steven Hayter, has a lot of experience in the more corporate restaurant arena, most recently heading up R&D for Seattle's Best (owned, let us remind you, by Starbucks). Hayter has not responded to our queries, but before 5 Corner's website was taken down, it listed his daughter Lindsey as the chef.

The good news—Crannell tells us he's got his own place in the works. Details to follow as they emerge.
