Lucky Diner Brings Non-Sketchy Hangout Space to Belltown

Better known for its upscale restaurants and down-and-dirty late-night scene, Belltown is getting another casual dining spot that actually welcomes customers during daylight hours. The Lucky Diner's will open in mid-May at First & Cedar, and the website just went live. Chef-owner Justin Mevs was previously the executive chef at Cutters Bayhouse near Pike Place Market. He plans to keep the coffee flowing from early morning to late at night (along with beer and wine), and hopefully stay open 24 hours down the road.

Belltown People says the menu will include omelets, sandwiches, fish and chips, pie, and other Americana staples. And like any Seattle restaurant worth its stripes these days, there will be biscuits and gravy. And an industrial-themed decor. Specifically the restaurant will be in a new space on the ground floor of the AL Humphrey House, a newly built facility housing mentally ill patients...a curious dynamic indeed.
