Magnolia's Swirl Wine Bar to Morph Into Neighborhood Pub

Swirl Wine Bar in the heart of Magnolia Village has closed down, and Magnolia Voice reports the new owner wants to turn it into a neighborhood pub called The Nook (not to be confused with Nook, the U-District comfort food spot that opened last weekend).

New owner David Shelnut promises a menu of seasonal small plates and nearly a dozen local microbrews on tap. Oh, and he's keeping the patio open, when weather permits. If the permitting gods smile down upon him, The Nook will open its doors in early May. Swirl's previous owners apparently moved to San Francisco.
