Capitol Hill's wood-fired bagelry Eltana will be open 'til 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. You can still get a parboiled Montreal-style bagel in the evenings, either retail or toasted with cream cheese and hummus. However the restaurant has been expanding its menu recently to include salads, soups and even a few entrees that draw from cuisine of Syria, Egypt, Turkey Israel and Lebanon. New dishes include a spiced flatbread platter, kale salad with harissa vinaigrette, and chard dolmas. Check out the current version of the nighttime menu here
Eltana will also serve beer and wine, including Turkish beer Efes. Owner Stephen Brown says you'll still place orders at the counter, then food gets delivered to your table. And if weekends aren't your thing, neighboring Italian bar Varro has debuted Mad Men Mondays.
