This is getting awfully official-sounding. Spinasse says its new, expanded space will be ready for diners May 27. The tiny Capitol Hill Piedmontese restaurant will close May 23-26 to complete its remodeling job, which involves breaking through the wall and installing the expanded counter and pasta station.
We've had a few peeks at Spinasse's forthcoming sibling bar apertivi bar Artusi of late, and but Spinasse's latest newsletter says the food menu will draw on recipes from Pellegrino Artusi’s 1891 cookbook Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well. Despite the Mhyrvold-esque title, the book is apparently a fundamental volume of Italian cookery with recipes that date back for centuries. Artusi's opening is still nebulously set for "early June."
