Friday the 13th is perhaps not the best day to try and open your long-suffering burger restaurant, as Zippy's Giant Burgers owner Blaine Cook well knows. He had been spreading the word that his popular burger joint's new White Center location might be open today. Alas, a new layer of issues, this time involving the fire alarm system for the building, has Cook in limbo yet again. This time he's not entirely sure when Zippy's will open its doors.
However as the above images show, the new White Center Zippy's location is ready for customers. Well, except for a cooler, which is on loan to Cook's nephew for use as a flower shop prop in a high school production of Little Shop of Horrors. The new space is roughly 2,000 square feet, compared with the 500 square feet patrons crammed into at Zippy's old West Seattle location. The landlord's foreclosure issues forced Cook to find a new location. Zippy's 2.0 will offer pinball, a photo booth and serve beer and even some wine (once that cooler gets returned).
