Monsoon Owner Eric Banh's Ba Bar Due Mid-June

Hey look, another high-profile project is opening soon. Eric Banh, the guy behind popular Vietnamese restaurant Monsoon and the Baguette Box sandwich shops, is just a few weeks away from debuting his 12th Avenue noodle shop. Photographer Geoff Smith sent along some in-progress photos of Ba Bar, which Banh hopes to open the second week of June.

Located in the former Watertown Coffee space across from Seattle University, Ba Bar will serve up "street food & cold drink" and will be much more casual than Monsoon. In the morning this means coffee and pastries and more substantial Vietnamese-influenced morning food. Later in the day the menu turns to pho, noodle bowls, grilled meats and roast birds. No surprise given the Capitol Hill location ? Ba Bar will serve cocktails and stay open late.
