WEST SEATTLE—The owner of Pan Africa restaurant in Pike Place Market is planning a restaurant in West Seattle, in the former address of recently shuttered Ho-Win Chinese Restaurant. According to West Seattle Blog, the Pan Africa Grill will feature dishes from Ethopia and East Africa and plenty of vegan options and grilled dishes. A rotating menu will focus on a particular region of Africa. [WSB]

BALLARD—If Coronas, tequila shooters and watered down margaritas aren't your thing, you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo tomorrow with some good beer. Per Jess Voelker, The Noble Fir is tapping a jalapeno-infused version of the Evo IPA from local cult favorite Two Beers Brewing at 4 p.m. tomorrow.

CAPITOL HILL—Though Can Can Cabaret is not, in fact, going into Melrose Market, Capitol Hill Seattle blog says the venue might still in fact open a new location somewhere on the Hill. [CHS]

DOWNTOWN—The Bookstore Bar's monthly scotch tasting is marking its two-year anniversary with a tasting of specialty Irish single malts on May 16 t 7 p.m. Chef Tiffany Layco provides food pairings and the evening runs $30. RSVP: bookstorebarevents@alexishotel.com. [EaterWire]
