Eater PDX has confirmed that Portland is getting its own snazzy big deal food festival. Apparently plans are in the works for a "major international, multi-day" event to highlight all facets of Oregon's culinary history, from the birth of James Beard (the guy, not the award) right up to the food trucks. Organizers are talking a SXSW-style atmosphere, making us both incredibly envious and glad that we're just a few hours away. The yet-unnamed festival will debut in fall of 2012. [Eater PDX]
