Rancho Bravo founder Freddy Rivas says he's considering opening a sit-down restaurant in West Seattle, where he's held a lease on a space for two years. He tells West Seattle Blog it would be a different concept from the tacos and other casual Mexican fare he dishes out at his trucks and current Capitol Hill restaurant. Also, "he hopes to open first in Wallingford, and then bring to West Seattle." If all this does indeed go down, he would hopefully open next spring.
Rivas, who incidentally has been a vocal opponent of the city's recent street food proposal, took over the former Winchell's doughnut shop next to his much-loved Wallingford taco truck this past spring. Last month he said he was still in the planning phases for the space's general layout.
