Allison Scheff's got the latest in a string of unexpected departures this month: Patric Gabre-Kidan has "suddenly left" Book Bindery. Gabre-Kidan, a former business partner of Ethan Stowell's, was instrumental in developing the restaurant, one of the most high-profile restaurants to open last year.
So what's he doing now? Why, pursuing a design career of course. He's been hired on at Method Construction, the firm that worked on Book Bindery. Sheff has more details on his new gig. Gabre-Kidan managed the front of house and was involved in the design of the restaurant, located in the same building as the Almquist Family Vintners. Owner Sumi Almquist said recently that his affiliation with the restaurant had evolved to more of a consulting role.
