'Tis the season to talk about patios and outdoor dining options, but let's be honest here we live in Seattle. So if you've got $1,000 or more to drop on your next affair and don't feel like communing with the weather, consider the basement in the Kolstrand Building, beneath Staple & Fancy, Walrus & the Carpenter and Dutch Bike Co. The space is technically the private tasting room for members of wine storage company The Cellar, but anyone can book the dining area with adjacent bar on nights when it's available.
Private event spaces are common in restaurants, but this one, carved out of the Kolstrand's cellar area, has a built-in rustic vibe that most people have to bring in professionals to achieve. Granted a few key additions like a giant reclaimed wooden slab table and some Edison light bulbs help matters. The space seats up to 18, and your dinner can be catered by either of the two restaurants upstairs. Minimum price commitment: $1,000.
