It looks like Ethan Stowell is waiting until mid-July to announce his new chef at Anchovies & Olives. In the wake of Charles Walpole's departure earlier this month, Stowell and his new mystery chef (hmmm, it seems the restaurant has an opening for a new sous chef) are busy expanding and redesigning the menu. A little cosmetic work in the dining room is also taking longer than expected.
Walpole, who headed Stowell's oceanic restaurant since it opened in 2009, recently vacated the premises to cook at Marjorie and work on his own project. Since his departure, Stowell has been spending a lot of time in Anchovies & Olives' kitchen and has declined to actually name the new chef until he can get settled in. Stowell has dropped some hints about Walpole's successor having a meatier palate, so expect that to come through in the updated menu...which, not to worry, will still focus on seafood. But will they change the health warning at the bottom of the menu?
