EASTLAKE—There's a 4th of July pig roast afoot at Little Water Cantina, possessor of one of the most impressive new patios Seattle has seen of late (yours is nice too, Poquitos). Chef Shannon Wilkinson is roasting a whole Washington pig that's about to begin its two-day brine. On Monday cover will be $10 and picnic-style plates of pig will probably run about $15. Drinks for the day include "deer and a beer," aka a shot of Cazadores tequila and a Tecate. [EaterWire]

EVERYWHERESeattle Met is all about Independence Day. They've got chef recipes, a listing of area celebrations and even some barbecue-appropriate local beers. If you're going out on Sunday or Monday, do make sure the bar/restaurant is actually open. [Seattle Met]

ON TV—A new Food Network series, Heat Seekers, goes around to different cities to eat a bunch of hot stuff. Episode number two is set in Seattle. On the agenda: Easy Joe's, Araya's Place and Wing Dome. Should you choose to watch, it airs Friday, July 29 at 10 p.m. [EaterWire]
