"Modern Thai" restaurant Bang Bar opens Friday in the Junction location that once housed Tom Yung Koon. The owners have two other Thai restaurants in Everett and Northgate, but say that Bang Bar will be a departure from your typical neighborhood Thai establishment. So much so that they decided to remove the word "Thai" from the restaurant's name a few months back.
The chef, who goes simply by Chef Jahn, ran her own restaurant in Bangkok and says she focuses on fresh, local and organic ingredients. The West Seattle Herald has more menu details and some interior slide show action.
