Belltowners looking for sustenance somewhere between prix fixe and mediocre late night drunk food, rejoice: The Lucky Diner opened this morning at 7 a.m. and will stay open 'til 4 a.m. on weekends. In true diner style, owner Justin Mevs is hoping to move to 24 hours in the future.
Servers, decked out in their custom-designed uniforms, serve up breakfast plates, sub sandwiches, a small beer and wine list, and what Mevs terms "good grubbin' food." Mevs, former executive chef at Cutters Bayhouse and a veteran of other more corporate restaurants, says he's ready for those inevitable all-night shifts.
