A tweet from Ronald Holden alerted us to changes in store at yet another cozy seasonal spot. Family-owned bistro 94 Stewart has been sold. The sorta-subterranean restaurant in the warren of Pike Place Market will serve its last meal July 23.
The Norton family, which opened 94 Stewart in 2005, apparently has a new restaurant in the works. In a dispatch to the mailing list, manager Nic Norton writes, "Negotiations are going well on the new place and we will share more information when everything is finalized." However the fried avocado, arguably 94 Stewart's signature dish, won't be following them to the new place. Norton promises "something new and different" in the new space.
