Serious Pie Chef Gray Brooks Heads to North Carolina

Leslie Kelly says Serious Pie chef Gray Brooks is headed home to North Carolina with plans to open his own place. Kelly says Brooks was a patient and effective teacher during her "critic turned cook" journey through Tom Douglas's kitchens.

However Eater kindly begs to differ with her statement that "It's not big news when a chef leaves a restaurant, unless the exit is fiery and dramatic." We live for that stuff.
