Pike Place Market institution Campagne has been closed for remodel since January and as rumored, chef/owner Daisley Gordon actually has a new identity in the works. Nancy Leson says the restaurant has a new name, Marché, "reflecting the Market location." Not to be confused with chef Greg Atkinson's in-the-works Marche on Bainbridge Island, of course.
The menu will remain French at is heart, says Gordon, though it might jump a few borders and add other European, and North African, influences. Marche will also be a little more wine-focused, with a fancy Enomatic wine-dispensing system, more wines by the glass, and perhaps even Washington wines on tap.
The remodeling action is still going on at Marché, and Gordon hopes to reopen by September 1. Meanwhile, Cafe Campagne will continue its classic French ways.
