May Chaleoy Leaving May to Open Vashon Eatery

May Chaleoy, the founder of eponymous May in Wallingford, tells the Vashon-Maury Island Beach Comber that she no longer has an ownership stake in May and plans to open a new restaurant on Vashon this fall. Chaleoy has leased a space formerly occupied by Heather's Homegrown Cafe. She told the paper she grew unhappy with her May business partners James Weimann and Auzie Oxford, a pair who had worked together for years both at Peso's and Triangle.

Chaleoy's new place on Vashon will be called May's Kitchen and Bar, and she expects to have it open in September 2011.
