Larry Kurofsky, the owner of the Heavy Restaurant Group, which operates Barrio and its siblings Purple Cafe & Wine Bar and Lot No. 3, explained that they will convert the Bellevue Barrio to an events space later this year, because "that concept, a combination restaurant-bar, lends itself to a dense urban neighborhood.” So, Barrio in Capitol Hill thrives. Kurofsky goes on to note that all other eateries in the Heavy empire are poised to hit record years, save for the Kirkland Purple, which peaked in 2008. [PSBJ]
