Murray Stenson Behind the Bar at Pan Pacific Hotel

Eater tipsters passed along word over the weekend that epic local barman Murray Stenson was spotted in a rather unexpected place. And the Pan Pacific Hotel has confirmed that Stenson is doing some consulting on a new concept for the hotel's Lobby Bar. In fact, he'll be behind the bar working a few shifts a week, at least for now.

The hotel, located at the busy intersection of Denny and Westlake, seems like a more sedate place for Stenson to ply his trade than the jam-packed Zig Zag Cafe, or even RN74 Seattle, where the bar seems plenty crowded without the legions of fans likely to follow the man wherever he may go. Since the announcement that Stenson was not joining RN74 Seattle due to a shoulder injury, he has appeared at a few fundraisers and events around town. One can only imagine the job offers that have rained down in the interim; it will be interesting to see how his arrival affects Lobby Bar's drink list ? and its crowd.
