EASTLAKE—A tipster passed along this photo of a new hot dog stand that set up shop outside the Zoo Tavern this weekend. Something to keep in mind next time you want to cap off a night of divey excess with a wiener or two. [EaterWire]

CAPITOL HILL—Capitol Hill Seattle blog's Monday food news roundup, a reliable font of information, says Caffe Vita's long-planned development on 15th Avenue East may have died a quiet death. The space, slated to be a coffee shop and pizza restaurant, has a "for rent" sign up. [CHS]

BELLEVUE—Hanna Raskin follows up on the news of Barrio's Bellevue closure and finds out that 75 percent of the restaurant employees have been reassigned within the Heavy Restaurant Group empire. The space will reopen this fall as an event venue and catering headquarters. In other Barrio East news, Jess Voelker says bartender Mark Sexauer relocated to Milagro Cantina in Kirkland. MULTIPLECupcake Royale's flavor of the month is actually four different strawberry flavors, made with Skagit Sun strawberries. Last month's special cupcake, The Gay, raised a rocking $10,000 for the It Gets Better Project. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Summer is here and so are the warm-weather promotions. Sazerac chef Jason McClure is offering a different flavor of granita each day in July. Day 1 began with an iced espresso granita, and other upcoming flavors include Rainier cherry with lemon verbena, and pomegranate with grape and rosemary, but you have to figure flavors will get pretty adventurous by the 25th or so. Follow the flavors on Facebook. [EaterWire]
