KOMO's Ballard reporter reminds us all that the Pantry at Delancey officially launches tomorrow with its first dinner party. Classes begin July 10. For fans of Delancey pizzeria and owner Brandon Pettit (of which there are many), the Pantry's arrival is a momentous occasion. Pettit, Delancey pastry chef Brandi Henderson and chef/instructor Olaiya Land, envision the space as a center for classes, communal dinners, catering, and other food-centric activities.
However if you didn't sign up for classes or dinners within seconds of the schedules being posted, you're out of luck ? at least for a while. To say things fill up quickly at the Pantry is to make a comical understatement. According to KOMO, 22 of the 34 classes being offered between now and October are full. Land and Henderson said their dreams for Pantry's future include "family nights, talks from farmers, movie nights and food swaps for busy moms."
