Chef Wayne Johnson of downtown restaurant Andaluca appeared on Food Network show Iron Chef America last night, taking on chef Michael Symon with cucumbers as the secret ingredient.
Working with a variety of cucumbers, Johnson whipped up a menu that included a gazpacho trio, salmon with cucumber aioli and a "cucumber-forward" sorbetto that judge Michael Ruhlman said "was the strongest use of the secret ingredient."
The episode will air again on Thursday at 11 p.m. Spoiler alert: Symon emerged the victor, but here are some highlights from Johnson's moment of Food Network glory.
