Lisa Nakamura's Island Life

Nakamura-Profile.jpgIn Sunday's Seattle Times, Rebekah Denn profiled chef Lisa Nakamura and her daily routine at Orcas Island restaurant Allium. The former Herbfarm chef de cuisine took over the longtime location of Christina's last year and has now weathered the summer rush, the quiet of an island winter, and a major dishwasher disaster. Says Denn, "It's no wonder she named the restaurant Allium, for a plant family that can draw tears — or bestow incomparable flavors." [Seattle Times]
