And you thought the Frank Bruni love made it tough to get a table at Walrus & the Carpenter. This morning Bon Appetit's Andrew Knowlton released the magazine's Best New Restaurants in America 2011 listicle, and Renee Erickson's Ballard oyster hideaway came in at a most impressive #3.
Knowlton writes, "It would be a shame to visit this tiny spot named for a Lewis Carroll short story and not get beyond the oysters." He soldiers on, however, and offers similar raves about the "smallish dishes composed mainly of things plucked from local waters."
Bon Appetit, it seems, is quite enamored with our city's seafood. Last year Ethan Stowell's Anchovies & Olives made the list. Here's the full list for this year:
