Tom Douglas On a Food Truck; Free Pretzel Dogs

MEALS ON WHEELS—Macy's food truck road trip makes its way to Seattle on September 1. What does this mean? It means that Macy's Culinary Council member Tom Douglas will be cooking on a food truck from 5-8 p.m. at Seattle Center and giving it away for free. But while you're there, it would be classy of you to donate a few bucks to Feeding America. [EaterWire]

PR SHUFFLESSeattle P-I food writer turned restaurant PR maven Hsiao-Ching Chou is leaving her post at Suzuki + Chou Communimedia to become the communications director for the Institute for Systems Biology. While restaurant openings may be news of the utmost importance in the Eaterverse, ISB's work unraveling the causes and seeking the cures for grave diseases ranks pretty damn high on the nobility scale. Chou's last day with Suzuki + Chou is August 22, and co-founder Michi Suzuki will carry on per usual. Congratulations! [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Free food alert: BOKA Kitchen + Bar will hand out free mini pretzel dogs, basically pretzel balls stuffed with Wagyu beef, on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It's a "dog days of summer" promo, also reminding people that these little guys are on the happy hour menu. The giveaway repeats on Friday, August 19. [EaterWire]
