MAPLE LEAF—Maple Leaf Life says the neighborhood's long wait for the new Flying Squirrel Pizza Co. is coming to an end: the highly acclaimed local pizza chainlet's third location opens tomorrow (that would be Thursday) at 5 p.m. Owner Bill Coury says the space needed more renovations than he had originally anticipated, and even writes up a little FAQ on the new location. BTW, the Seward Park location is getting a major remodel, and that location is closed through September 15. [Maple Leaf Life]
BALLARD—My Ballard was barely done mourning the closure of Bad Albert's when the neighborhoodie with the killer burger announced it would be opening its doors once again. Additional details are scant at this point, but word in the comments is that the new owners are employees and friends of former owner Steve Katsandres. [My Ballard]
EDMONDS—Here's something you don't see every day: Dick's Drive-In will be opening its new Edmonds location earlier than planned. A month earlier, in fact. Seattle PI's Casey McNerthney (who is mature enough to refrain from any premature Dick's jokes) says the new location should be slinging burgers by Thanksgiving. [Seattle PI]
