CAPITOL HILL—Thanks to the tipster who pointed out the closure announcement taped to the door of aggressively cowboy-themed bar The Buck. According to the sign, "The Buck is Closed Officially," and the phone number has been disconnected. Our tipster also reports changing hours, recent bartender departures and other signs a shuttering is imminent. The bar is under the same ownership as Bleu Bistro and its somewhat new sibling Bleu Grotto; the very unofficial word on the street (literally) is that something new is in the works for the space. We give Capitol Hill Seattle blog 24 hours, max, to figure it all out. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Another sure sign of fall: tickets are on sale for Oyster New Year at Elliott's Oyster House. This year's briny soiree is Saturday, November 12. General admission tickets are $95, but a $125 VIP ticket gets you in the door an hour early and champagne in hand. Full details here. [EaterWire]

WALLINGFORD—A new food truck pod is coming to the Uptown Espresso parking lot at 45th & Corliss, says My Wallingford. Trucks Curry Now, Barriga Llena, and BUNS will be at Friday night's debut (5-9 p.m.), and Street Treats, Lumpia World, Big Food, Pai’s, Fusion on the Run and Marination Mobile are expected to join the fun in the coming weeks.
