Local post-drinking burger destination Dick's is taking a cue from both Willy Wonka and Canlis to generate some buzz as the iconic local burger company prepares to open its first new location since 1974. Dick's announced it's sending fans on the hunt for 12 orange tickets, dropping some sort of clues on both Facebook and Twitter in the coming days and weeks.
OK, maybe the Canlis and Wonka comparisons aren't entirely apt. The prize, sadly, isn't a meal at 1970s prices (Dick's regular menu offers that experience pretty much every day). And the tickets won't be concealed inside a Dick's deluxe. However winners will play a role in the grand opening of the new Edmonds location, which should be operational before Thanksgiving. Even if you don't score an orange ticket, there's always the possibility of tailgating with a Dick's-friendly wine pairing.
