Pizza Spot The Ridge Opening Next Month...With Skee-Ball

In case you forgot for a moment that Phinney Ridge/Greenwood is blowing up right now (in a most family friendly way), here's a quick update on upcoming pizza restaurant The Ridge. Partners in the new pizzeria include Chris Navarra, who also owns German bars Prost!, Feierabend and Die Bierstube. The project naturally encountered a few permit hurdles, but Navarra says The Ridge should open on Greenwood Avenue (next to Ken's Market) in roughly six weeks.

As for the pies, Navarra describes it as 'good pizza': "not super thin, not super thick...just normal pizza, the kind we grew up on." The Ridge describes itself as a family friendly community gathering space, complete with a rear game room that will have shuffleboard, spaces for larger groups AND...skee-ball. For patrons without bedtimes to contend with, the space will have a full bar that stays open until 1 a.m.

According to PhinneyWood, Navarra's partners are Nickerson Street Saloon owner Chris Gerke T.S. McHugh's and 10 Mercer owner Tom Griffith and beer distributor/neighborhood resident Larry Wikan.

It's been a busy summer for the neighborhood's main drag. Just a few block north you'll find the new Cornuto Pizzeria (winning early praise) and the future home of Bluebird ice creamery (and nanobrewery). To the south: recently opened Phinney Market Pub & Eatery.
