Il Terrazzo Carmine's Smeraldo Dies

Carmine_Smeraldo_Seattle.jpgIl Terrazzo Carmine(or Carmine's) Owner Carmine Smeraldo has died, says Puget Sound Business Journal. Ronald Holden updated us yesterday that Smeraldo had asked to be taken off life support and was able to spend his last hours at home with his family. He passed away last night. Our deepest sympathies to Smeraldo's friends and family. Seattle Times' Nancy Leson once wrote of Carmine's, which has been in business since 1984, as "the hidden headquarters for the old guard, a place to have a three-martini linguine lunch or a celebratory filetto with a bottle of barolo." [PSBJ] Update: PSBJ says that the memorial will be on 1/18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clyde Hill.
