The folks behind Queen Anne's Solo bar and gallery(including Faith No More's Billy Gould) have decided to expand to Capitol Hill with St. John's Bar and Eatery, which will occupy the East Pike space recently vacated by Rosebud Seattle. Joe Randazzo, a newly minted Seattle Central Culinary Academy grad, will helm St. John's kitchen. He tells us that they aim to open St. John's in mid-February.
Having worked at Solo, Randazzo notes that St. John's will offer more substantial eats including fish and a roast chicken: "The dinner menu is still being tweaked a little as I've yet to get into the kitchen and do some remaining testing/plating/etc. Menu will change seasonally and as new ingredients become available. Will be from scratch as much as possible." St. John's will introduce brunch in mid-spring, taking advantage of Rosebud's serene back patio. They will offer food daily from 2 pm to 11 pm, and happy hour will be from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Capitol Hill Seattle spoke with St. John's landlord back in November, when the deal was initially inked.
