On Friday, Canon announced on Facebook that they have hired Tavern Law's Andrew Cross to run the kitchen at the whiskey and bitters emporium: "Big news! We're very excited to tell you that our new chef, Andrew Cross, starts today. He'll be making some big changes to our menu over the coming weeks, and we'll be sure to keep you posted along the way. Don't worry, the pork belly buns aren't going anywhere...."
We asked Erin Boudreau, press relations manager for the bar, about Cross and what his hiring means for the menu. Boudreau noted that outgoing Canon chef Melinda Bradley had developed "a great food program" in her short tenure at Canon. However, Bradley has decided to change career paths. Canon will be looking to Cross to bring the food program on par(!!) with the drinks. Scintillating stuff. Prior to his stint as lead cook at Tavern Law, Andrew Cross worked as a sous chef at Canlis. Cross's departure from Tavern Law follows on the heels of several bar men leaving the celebrated cocktail den.
