Over the weekend, All Purpose Pizza owner Kedra Olsen announced on Facebook (since deleted) that she would be closing the popular pizza shop in the Jackson Commons building. Olsen had developed a loyal following in the neighborhood for her gluten-free, sourdough crust and the child-friendly environment of the pizzeria. Olsen explained in the note to customers that since the 2008 recession, she has been accumulating debt monthly:
After 7 years of business I have decided it is time to move on and unburden myself and the debt that has been amassing since 2008 and the economic crash. I have done everything I can over these past years to stay in business, waiting for brighter days, but the new economic reality doesn't mesh with my overhead/bottom line which is, unfortunately, not negotiable.Friends and fans are encouraged to come out tonight beginning at 4 p.m. to help polish off the beer and food [$2 pints, $7 pitchers, and $5 food]. Cash only please.
