Chef John Howie, with an eponymous steak house in Bellevue's showcase mall The Bravern, two SeaStar restaurants and a sports bar (fittingly called Sport) at the base of the Space Needle, is planning a new spot in Bothell.
Details aren't being released yet, not even to Eater: not the name, not the location (well, Bothell, but that's not pinpointing it), not the timetable (beyond the year, 2014).
Here's what we do know, as reported by Puget Sound Business Journal: a new, "from scratch" restaurant that Howie plans to open in Bothell in 2014. The really cool part: the restaurant will include a brewery and a distillery.
"It will be casual like a pub and we will make everything in-house," Howie told PSBJ. "We'll build a complete charcuterie to make our own pepperoni and salami and we will bake all our own breads."
Howie's partner, sommelier Erik Liedholm, has been working with master distiller Kris Berglund, who established an artisan distilling program at Michigan State University, to create a set of spirits for the restaurant.
