One of the most iconic dining rooms in Seattle, Ray's Boathouse announces that it will close after service on Sunday October 14 for a major overhaul. The Boathouse(the downstairs, more formal dining room) will be closed eight to ten weeks for the remodel. The upstairs Ray's Cafe and the catering operation will remain unaffected and open. The cafe will get its own makeover in 2013.
According to the press release, a new bar will be installed, as part of the remodel. In fact, you can follow the remodel progress by clicking on the "Rays the Bar" website. Ray's recently celebrated its fortieth birthday and is looking ahead to the next 40. Along with the new look, chef Wayne Johnson will conceive a new menu.
