Central District News says that Pioneer Square's Mediterranean Mix is coming to the CD, planning to occupy the space recently vacated by Beehive Bakery. As its name implies, the eatery serves up gyros, falafael, pizza, subs, soups, and a signature chicken and rice. CDN spoke to owner Otmane Bezzaz, who also runs Pioneer Square's historic J&M Cafe, and he confirms that the menu will largely be the same.
Bezzaz tells CDN that they eschew frozen ingredients, and "make everything from scratch." Exciting news for neighbors is that Mediterranean Mix will stay open til 10 or 11 and will offer delivery. A rep for the eatery tells us that they plan to open in March 2012.
