Nick Simonton sends word that The Amber Den is now open in Ballard. Simonton has been softly open since the first of the month. And, he's now ready to welcome Ballard neighbors to his decidedly unfussy beer and wine joint. Ryan Boehler is the chef behind the small plates menu, designed to pair well with wine and beer. Simonton's inspiration for his new spot came about during a wine tasting tour with his mother. He wanted to allow people to sample different wines in a scaled-down, welcoming environment.
