Yesterday, David Leck of Taylor Shellfish store in the MelroseMarket, won the oyster shucking championship at the International Boston Seafood Show, according to Taylor spokesman Jon Rowley. It was the first time in the competition for Leck, who had previously won competitions in Seattle and Vancouver, BC.
In second place was Jorge Hernandez, a previous champion, who works for Elliott's Oyster House. Here is some background on the Boston competition.
