Yard House Will Open First Seattle Location in Downtown

Borders closed in the Century Square building last August, and the vacant space now has a new tenant. California-based Yard House Restaurants, an upscale-casual chain known for its vast selection of beer on draft, announces that it has scooped up the 4th & Pike space for its first Seattle location. The Seattle Yard House will have 130 taps, including local and regional brews and expects to open in early 2013.

There will also be a glass-enclosed keg room, that "will hold as much as 500 kegs and collectively contain approximately 7,000 gallons of beer." According to the press release, a network of steel and nylon tubing will run overhead and create "a striking visual effect, transports the beer from the keg room to the fleet of taps at the island bar." Yard House is also known for blasting classic and contemporary rock and will deploy a barrage of flat screens tuned to sports.
