Shabu Chic, a new I.D. spot serving up Japanese-style hot pot called shabu shabu opened for lunch earlier today, per its Facebook page. Their website is down right now, but the lunch menu top out at $10 and dinner at $13. Like Chinese hot pot, you choose a base broth and then choose meat and vegetable items to boil/cook in it. Per their Facebook page, as an opening special this weekend, they are offering a 10% discount off your entire bill: "All you need to do is tell us your a FB fan and check-in via FB and/or FourSquare."
Shabu Chic takes over the now defunct Saigon Bistro location located behind Viet-Wah Supermarket on the northside. Hour of operation are Friday thru Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm for lunch and 5 to 9 pm for dinner.
